Solid Construction, Good Balance
I really enjoy this sword. I have practiced with many different straight sword but none this rigid and well balanced (in this price and availability class). Feels almost like rigidity of a combat ready sword but with no edge. You can only flex the blade into a gentle curve with good hands. If you set the point on the floor and balance the sword, the blade will not flex under its own weight. Blade will take light to moderate combat practice contact. I have actually used a stone to remove small burs from contact with ease and to great effect. I got a 29"blade - total length just around 37" weighs 2lb, 9oz. Fittings are milled, not pressed and scabbard is well constructed with ornaments pinned in place, not glued. Grip was just a little thin for my bigger hand but a paracord wrap both fixes and personalizes the weapon for me. Definitely recommend this for traditional style kung fu training.
