Gorgeous weapon. Good weight. However the shaft is a comparatively light weight wood for a reasonably heavy blade. I had mine for 6 weeks with infrequent practice before the head began to wobble. By the time the dealer and I resolved the issue, the head had snapped off. It is a very top heavy weapon and even tiny cracks can be severely worsened through use. The dealer told me that he hasnt had issues with this product for over a decade of sale, but weapons aren't guarunteed. He worked with me anyway. I would keep this in mind. You are buying a traditional weapon. Weapons broke 1000 years ago through basic use and they will break today. This weapon, comparatively speaking, is an absolute bargain. If you are practicing on a budget, tape it up and hope for the best. If you are looking for a show piece, this may be a fantastic deal. If you have the money, knuckle down and buy a step up.
